Tobacco Application
Increased plant vigor and growth means:
Significant Harvest Yield Improvement
and
Higher Tobacco Leaf Quality
Growth improvement is related to the better access to, and use of nutrients and water.
A healthier plant will result, which can be noted in the produce quality.
In addition, significant savings can be achieved in fertilizers, water, and crop protection treatments.
And this will be achieved with one only treatment,
at the beginning of the crop cycle
The first cultivation phase takes place in the nursery.
This is the best time to initiate and to establish the mycorrhiza, a beneficial symbiotic association between plant root and soil fungi.
MYCOSYM TRI-TON® will be applied by mixing with the planting substrate at a concentration of 4-5% v/v ( or 40-50 liters per m3 o 12-15 kg per m3)
Field Trial Result Summary:
Over the 2008 and 2009 campaigns the tobacco producing company CETARSA carried out fied trials on behalf of MYCOSYM, applying our product in different locations in the Spanish provinces Cáceres and Granada, tobacco main producing areas in Spain.
The results confirm those previously obtained in other crops, showing that mycorrhiza formed in tobacco roots by the application MYCOSYM TRI-TON help increasing average yields by 10% and average tobacco leaf quality by 13%, providing clear economic benefits to both farmers and tobacco processing companies.

A 10% average harvest yield increase (kg dried leaves) in the various field trials made during the 2008 and 2009 campaigns.

Produce quality (notation composed from several parameters).
The quality evaluation increases in average by 13% in the field trials made during the 2008 and 2009 campaigns.
Words of caution:
The above results are achieved only when the establishment of the mycorrhiza symbiosis has been successful.
Inoculation with mycorrhizal fungi can be inhibited by various parameters.
Precautions to take are:
- not abusing systemic fungicide treatments (fosetyl-Al, Metelaxil, etc.), especially in the early stages of seedling;
- reduce the phosphorus load by 40% and nitrogen by 20%.
